I prefer to use an open footer to embroider any type of stitches (even SLOPPY!☺️) to hold the inside and outside liners together. That way the liners won't separate during use and cleaning. Also (especially with a bold opposite color thread!) works great as a finishing touch to the bag.

there are different thicknesses for felt I always use white thinner felt for bags, it works really fine, and is cheaper then stabilizer, spray it with some fabric glue sew only the borders your done

I had a family member ask me to make her some reusable pads and I really liked this pattern and the instructions are very easy to follow. I have purchased the materials I will need and can't wait to see how they turn out. I'm sure she will be happy with them.

You just saved my sanity. I have a bag with side and bottom panels, interior and exterior are complete, and then I decided to do a recessed zipper. None of the tutorials I found, open end or enclosed, were going to work with what I had without ripping a lot out. This is the PERFECT solution, esp considering I can't recess the zipper more than 1" and this way it's not recessed at all. Thank you so much!
